Hospice of the Comforter’s Horizons Bereavement Center is staffed by highly trained counselors who are especially prepared to help adults and children who have experienced a loss.
Adult Counselors
Hospice of the Comforter's Horizons Bereavement Department is coordinated by Bereavement Manager Diane Nickeson-Mendheim, MSW, LCSW. She and Dawne Thomas, MA, LMHC, Flavia Cipollaro, MS, LMHC, Larissa Humiston, MSW, LCSW, Amber Stanley, LCSW, Michelle Velarde-Cubek, MS, and Karen Cloninger, M.Ed., each provide individual counseling and facilitate various adult grief support groups.
Children’s Loss Counselors
Counselors Elaine Guinta, MSW, Regina Nimmo, MA, LMHC, and Robin Katz, M.Ed., conduct grief support groups for children in public and private schools throughout our tri-county service area.
Left Behind After Suicide
Ann Dumont, MA, LMHC, facilitates support groups for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.
