Why join our team?

Our dedicated team members choose to work for Hospice of the Comforter because of our family-friendly culture and values, our competitive salaries and benefits and for the heart of our mission. Hospice of the Comforter recognizes our team member’s hard work and dedication. Some of the ways in which we recognize employees include our Length of Service Awards, Partners in Excellence awards and the RGW Presidential Award. We also celebrate our employees with events such as Team Day, Nurses Week Celebration, Pancake Breakfast and an Annual Holiday Party.

Our awards:

At Hospice of the Comforter, we value our team members by offering competitive salaries, “Cutting Edge” benefits and an opportunity for a work/life balance. As a result of our innovative and family-friendly benefits, Hospice of the Comforter has been recognized as one of the Orlando Sentinel's Top 100 Companies for Working Families for four consecutive years (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009). Additionally, Hospice of the Comforter was the only company in 2006 to win the Employees’ Choice Award and in 2008 we were awarded the “Cutting Edge” award for offering innovative benefits to our employees.  In 2007, we were awarded the NBCHPN Employer of the Year Award, recognizing our exemplary, sustained support of the certification programs for hospice and palliative caregivers.

Our mission:

We are compassionate people providing compassionate care. We are guided by the highest ethical principles while expertly caring for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones facing an incurable illness.

Our culture:

We recognize that the needs of the people we serve are paramount. We are a service team that respects the talents of each member. We are committed to a culture of mutual respect, compassion and fairness. We encourage personal and spiritual growth and sensitivity in an atmosphere of excellence.

Our philosophy:

We recognize that the Judeo-Christian commitment of compassion and service, particularly in times of crisis, fear, pain and death, motivates us to care for patients with incurable illnesses and their loved ones facing imminent death. The purpose of the hospice movement is to give compassionate, holistic care and to provide symptom and pain management to patients with an incurable illness in their home or home-like environment where caregivers can participate in their care.

Hospice of the Comforter brings the positive Judeo-Christian values of compassion, service, charity, faith, honesty, dignity and mercy to the hospice venture. Patients of all races, creeds and national origins receive care from competent professionals and volunteers regardless of their ability to pay. We enable our patients to live their lives to the fullest, surrounded by a support system of family, friends, religious traditions and hospice staff, so that they might meet death with a sense of comfort, faith and hope.

Our core values:

  • We will honor God in all our actions and decisions.
  • We will act with compassion and respect toward clients, co-workers and business associates.
  • We will demonstrate integrity in all interactions.
  • We will achieve excellence with personal accountability and team work.
  • We will promote personal and professional development.
  • We will ensure financial stability through responsible stewardship, quality management and superior service.
