Legacy Society
Nothing validates the service of our professional staff and volunteers and honors the legacy of the patients for whom we have been privileged to care more than having our friends make a long-term gift to assure that nonprofit hospice care will be available in the future.
When you include Hospice of the Comforter in your estate plans, you create a legacy of hope for those who will need Hospice of the Comforter’s care in the years ahead. When you choose to make a planned gift to Hospice of the Comforter, there is a tangible way for us to show you our thanks – the Legacy Society.
Joining the Legacy Society is easy.
- Step One: Arrange for a planned gift to Hospice of the Comforter.
- Step Two: Notify Hospice of the Comforter's Planned Giving Manager, Ray Barr, at 407-682-0808.
Apart from the personal satisfaction of knowing you are leaving a legacy of hope and compassionate care, Hospice of the Comforter Legacy Society members receive:
- A specially designed Hospice of the Comforter Legacy Society member certificate
- The Comfort Line, a newsletter with the latest news about Hospice of the Comforter
- Acknowledgement of your gift in Hospice of the Comforter donor reports and on our Donor Wall in the Center for Community Care (requests for anonymity will be respected).
Legacy Society members may also make a perpetual gift to Hospice of the Comforter by designating that the bequest be placed in the Hospice of the Comforter Permanent Endowment, held at the Community Foundation of Central Florida. By placing your gift in the endowment you are assuring the mission of Hospice of the Comforter will continue in perpetuity.
Hospice of the Comforter does not ask the amount of the donation, but you are encouraged to discuss what you would like to accomplish through your gift with our Planned Giving Counselor. While we know that your gift is motivated by compassion for hospice patients and their families, there may be specific tax advantages that should be considered when planning your gift.
