Memorial Gifts
Contributions made as memorial, honorary or celebratory gifts are normally made by check or credit card, but any type of gift to Hospice of the Comforter (i.e. stocks, real estate, etc.) can be considered as such.
Memorial Gifts
Memorial gifts are a powerful way to honor the life and work of someone special in your life. Families often ask that gifts be made to Hospice of the Comforter in lieu of flowers after the death of a loved one. Generally, the funeral home will be able to help you with the advertisement of this family wish. In addition, donors can memorialize anyone with a gift at any time.
Hospice of the Comforter appreciates these gifts immensely as they are a tangible form of loving tribute to special person, whether or not they were a patient of Hospice of the Comforter. Our Development department ensures timely acknowledgement of each gift and notification to the family of any gifts made in memory of their loved one.
Honorary Gifts
Honorary gifts are given as a thoughtful way to honor someone special. Patients' families often contribute gifts in honor of a nurse, volunteer or other Hospice of the Comforter staff member who provided special care. Anyone can be honored with a special gift to Hospice of the Comforter; a special teacher, mentor, colleague, friend or family member. Please include this information and we will ensure notification to the honoree that a gift has been made in his or her honor.
Gifts in Celebration
Gifts to Hospice of the Comforter are also a thoughtful birthday or anniversary gift. Some couples choose to list Hospice of the Comforter for gifts in celebration of their wedding day or anniversary. Holiday gifts can also save time while being meaningful. If you would like a tribute card sent to the person being honored, please include information and we’ll notify your special friend or family member that a gift in celebration has been made in their name.
Major contributors have the opportunity to name a specific area in the Hospice House, either in their own name or in the name of someone they wish to remember. For more information on naming opportunities, please contact our Development department at 407-682-0808 or online.
All Gifts
• Please indicate on the reference line of the check: “In Memory/Honor/Celebration of” and include the person’s name.
• In the case of patients of Hospice of the Comforter, we will notify the primary caregiver of your gift.
• If the person you are memorializing or honoring is not a patient of Hospice of the Comforter, or if you would like someone other than the primary caregiver notified of your gift, please provide their name and address so that we may notify them.
