Nursing Department
Make a difference in the lives of our patients by supporting our nurses. Funds help nurses further their education and attain certification as Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurses.
Volunteer Services
Join the enthusiasm of this growing department as it provides community support to our patients and staff. Funds allow the Volunteer Services department to expand programs such as Pet Partners and Life Reflections.
Charitable Contribution Fund
This fund helps patients and families, employees and community members pay for needs such as groceries, utility bills, non-hospice medications and other items that they might not be able to otherwise afford. More than 60% of our employees contribute to this fund directly from their paychecks.
Helping Hands Benevolent Care
Hospice of the Comforter cares for patients regardless of eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance. All services, medication and medical equipment are provided at no charge.
Hospice of the Comforter has provided more than $7 million in non-reimbursed care since 1990, ensuring that no one will be turned away due to an inability to pay.
Hospice House
Our 16-bed Hospice House cares for patients who are experiencing acute symptoms or who have no caregiver. This is the only free-standing Hospice House for residents of Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties.
Gerald D. Robison Residence
This home environment for patients meeting hospice criteri
a with six private rooms is named for long-time Chairman of the Board Gerald D. Robison. It is the only free-standing hospice residence facility in our tri-county service area, providing care for patients who can no longer stay at home, who have no caregiver, or whose families may need respite from care.
Bereavement Care
Bereavement care services are offered to our patient families and the Central Florida community at no cost. This fund allows the Horizons Bereavement Center to hold support groups and events such as our annual Memorial Service.
Horizons Children's Loss Program
This fund allows Hospice of the Comforter to provide grief support at no charge to students in public and private schools throughout Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties.
Home Medical Equipment
Your donation to this fund helps buy additional medical equipment and supplies that are delivered at no charge to our patients in their homes or facilities.
Unrestricted Fund
Your gift will be placed where it is most needed and will directly benefit our patients and their families.
