A Compassionate Nonprofit Ministry Since 1990

Volunteers

Volunteers are vital members of our team, providing a special kind of compassionate care and support to patients, families and staff.  Volunteers choose to work directly with patients and families or in many other needed areas of service. There is a volunteer opportunity for everyone: adults who work and have families, seniors, retirees, youth and those with unique talents.  We welcome volunteers from diverse cultural, social and professional backgrounds.

Whether they offer companionship and a listening ear to patients and families, give bereavement support, provide respite to a caregiver, provide a palliative massage, give a haircut, help in the office, lend a hand with their computer skills, or share their expertise to help promote hospice care, our volunteers tell us that they receive as much as they give and their lives are enriched by making a difference.

“Volunteering is the most rewarding thing I do.  It’s a two-way street whereby I can give to my community and in turn I am rewarded with life-changing experiences.  I see a sparkle in patients’ eyes as they relive their stories. Smiles come across their faces as they receive everyday acts of kindness.  It’s personal time well spent.”
