Un Ministerio Compasivo Sin Fines de Lucro Desde 1990

Open Your Heart to Hospice

julio 19, 2010 | By: Carlen Ginzl, Annual Fund Coordinator

One thing is for sure, mentioning the word “hospice” evokes a plethora of emotions and misconceptions. It's often considered a topic of discussion for a 'later date', a taboo not to be discussed, too depressing or uncomfortable to think about or discuss.

Many seem to have the misconception that calling hospice is an exchange for hope - something to be avoided until the pain is too much to bear.

But nothing could be farther from the truth!

Hospice is about the GIFT OF LIFE!

Hospice is about the GIFT of HOPE!

By Opening Your Heart to Hospice, that cloud of misconception can be lifted. The knowledge that hospice meets patients and families exactly where they are, making life more livable and enjoyable is what we are all about. From pain and symptom management to a personalized in-home care team (physician, nurse, counselor, chaplain, certified nurse assistant and volunteer), hospice is there for not only for the patient but the family. Eliminating the fear, improving the quality of life, spending the remaining time as comfortably as possible in the company of loved ones and friends…that’s the mission.

Exchanging love, joy, tears and laughter…that’s the GIFT.

Come join us for breakfast and Open Your Heart to Hospice as we share the message and mission of Hospice of the Comforter on Tuesday, Aug. 24 at 8 a.m. Join us in experiencing just how EVERY DAY IS A GIFT!
